they been doing that for a while. -- at the beer stores in Toronto (there its only in govt. stores), the late ones are open to 11pm but there not as many, so many people of course drive there, and most have parking lots of course, so around 10pm a hour before they turn off the parking lights over the lot, to see how well people were able to drive with their headlights only and park normally, those that didn't got removed.

This is already being challenged under the charter, thankfully. Reason being under the current law you could drive home from wherever, have a couple of drinks and then the cops could show up at your door asking for a sobriety test.

You could simply choose not to answer your door, but most people who've been drinking at home for a bit aren't going to have the presence of mind to think of that.

Beer stores are not govt owned, its a govt sanctioned private sector monopoly.
